José Clemente lives in Las Delicias, a suburb of San Juan del Sur, with his mother and two younger brothers. He didn't care much about school until his grandmother died three years ago. This loss had a huge impact on him, and he vowed to work hard and do something for himself. In one year, his grades went from an average of 69 to 94.
His favorite classes in high school were chemistry, biology, and math. While in high school he participated in many activities: sports (particularly soccer), cultural activities, and church activities.
José Clemente would like to study social work and promises to maintain high grades as a way of showing respect for the FAJB.
Three traits that characterize him are respectful, responsible and honest. One problem he sees in his community is that there are many young people who use drugs.
