HELP US CONTINUE TO MAKE DREAMS COME TRUE We are growing and we would be delighted if you could join us, and help us fund the future of Fundación A. Jean Brugger and continue bringing educational opportunities to the young women and men of San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua.
For many years we have been operating inside a local hotel that provided us with office space, but now this facility has closed down due to the current crisis in Nicaragua, and that has left millions in economic losses. Tourism was one of the sectors that suffered the most and San Juan was not exception, as the town depends mainly on this activity for its subsistence. We believe that this community and the country itself will come back from this challenging moments, and we want to be here for its young people.This is why we are embarking in this project to build a new office and permanent space for implementing our programming and for our students to have a better space to meet, to plan and develop their own community service projects. |

Why is this project important? Education across the globe is a key strategy for all individuals to improve their living standards and the most effective way of providing a path to development and improved living standards in Nicaragua. FAJB programs were developed after identifying needs in the community and specifically the youth of San Juan del Sur. We have supported scores of young people in their efforts to work towards their own educational and career goals, in the firm belief that these successes set examples and pull the student's friends, relatives and acquaintances forward, as well. FAJB is a key member of the SJDS community and culture, and a reference for good practices and continuous support to the youth of the municipality. We have contributed to the professional growth of many sanjuaneños and seen them develop into strong and honest citizens. The work of Fundación goes back 20 years and the number of partners and contacts that we have on the ground has enabled us to continue our work and have a larger impact in people's’ lives. |

This project will guarantee that FAJB continues providing educational opportunities that create real change:
• Women are empowered – two-thirds of our scholarship recipients are young women • Leaders are developed – scholarship recipients give back through service projects, developing leadership skills and gaining experience in their field • The local community is nurtured – Student leaders forge skills through community service and inspire future students |
