July 10 to 14 was the second FAJB Baseball Camp of 2017. 28 children from Azul and Blanco School participated. This camp was special because of the participation of the Smith family from the United States. The family brought 10 duffel bags of baseball equipment donated by members of their Little League team, the Alpine Little League of Menlo Park, California. The equipment included baseballs, bats, gloves, as well as baseball shoes, socks and pants which were given to the 28 participating boys and girls. The Smith children, Jake, Luke, Sam and Micah, also had the opportunity to be part of the camp. They and their mother, Jennifer, all felt very welcomed by the children of San Juan. In the camp the children were taught about habits and values for their personal development, as well as baseball techniques. The last day of the camp was a friendly baseball game between 2 groups of children. Each child was given a certificate of participation and prizes were given to the 6 best participants on the basis of behavior and participation during the camp. Aftrwards the children happily enjoyed pizza, ice cream, and a piñata. We thank the Christopher Shatagin Foundation, which is the principal sponsor of the Fundación A Jean Brugger baseball camp, the Smith family, and the coach Alejandro Noguera.
