Sponsoring a Student
Sponsor a Student
The basic contribution to sponsor a student covers registration, monthly tuition, transportation, field trips, text books, and additional courses.
The Student Sponsorship Program is the framework for investing in the human and social capital of San Juan del Sur. Individual donors sponsor a student in college, high-school or English courses. In turn, the sponsored students of Fundación A. Jean Brugger commit to excellence in their school work, to participate in the Community Service Program, and to work in San Juan del Sur after graduation.
Scholarship recipients are carefully selected from the best high school students in the San Juan del Sur region, having attained a minimum 80% overall grade average. Over 92% of the recipients complete their studies through to graduation.
Fundación A Jean Brugger helps students and sponsors connect with letters (translating if required) and photos. Sponsors also receive progress reports on a quarterly basis. It’s is a remarkable experience to be part of a sponsorship!
To date, more than 70 students supported by the Fundación A. Jean Brugger have graduated from university, some of whom have gone on to become lawyers, engineers, doctors, and computer technicians.
In 2016, 43 students are being sponsored. Five are new students. Twelve students will graduate in 2016. Three students vetted for the 2016 school year are awaiting sponsors. View their photos and bios.
