Who We Are
Our Mission is to identify, improve, and expand educational opportunities in partnership with the community of San Juan del Sur.
To fulfill our mission, Fundación A. Jean Brugger furthers education and supports the youth of San Juan del Sur through Sponsorship Programs and a School Uniform Program. For a fraction of what a college education costs in other countries, our student sponsors have enabled over 75 local students attend college since the program’s inception. What these young people bring back to San Juan del Sur is leadership and innovation for the benefit of the entire community. We also facilitate sponsorships for local teachers who visit rural communities on weekends to provide classes to children of subsistence farmers. As you can imagine, we are constantly seeking sponsors. Contact us today for more information on the students and teachers currently waiting for your support.
Along with our sponsorship programs, we are proud to have an Ancianos (Senior Citizens’) Program, a thriving community art gallery called Galería del Sur, and community initiatives such as baseball camps, a folkloric dance troupe, and recycling projects.
