Dayling began the first year of public accounting and finance at the Central University of Nicaragua (UCN) in Jinotepe in 2018; however she suspended her enrollment both for economic reasons and due to the closure of the university in the wake of the socio-political crisis. In the ensuing years she has worked with children at an after-school program and discovered that the vocation she is passionate about is teaching.
Dayling was born on June 20, 1999, is 19 years old, and lives in the Maria Auxiliadora neighborhood of San Juan del Sur. Dayling is the oldest of three siblings; currently in their home live 5 members: her father, mother and a sister and brother. Her mother works as a cook in a small local food and beverage business, her dad works as a tailor; the small income of the two parents covers the basic expenses of the home.
Dayling completed her high school studies in San Juan del Sur in 2016. Her preferred classes in high school were: Spanish, English and Philosophy. Dayling graduated from high school with an average of 83%. Dayling is known for being a kind, helpful, and responsible young woman. In her free time she likes to read the Bible, and other books, listen to music, watch movies, and help with domestic chores.
Dayling has been very constant in volunteering in her community. For example, she has participated in trash pickups and activities organized through her church including food delivery to prisoners and visits to the sick. She has also excelled in oratory contests during high school.
Her short-term goals are to improve her English, resume her university career, and in the long term to become a professional who honors her parents by giving back to them both economically and by being an upstanding citizen. She also wants to be able to give back to others who have supported her.
