On Saturday, February 3, we presented a Tribute to Jean Brugger to celebrate her 20 years of service in the educational development of young people in our community. The celebration was held at the new public space in the Port of San Juan del Sur.
It was a very emotional event, remembering how Jean Brugger began with the school uniform project, working in collaboration with Mrs. Lilliam Reyes. Little by little the Fundación has grown, adding programs that benefit the inhabitants of this town. Today our programs are:
1. School Supplies Program
2. Scholarship Program
3. Ancianos Program
4. Rural High School Institute
5. Baseball Camp
6. Friends of the Foundation Program
This event was attended by members of the local board of directors, local businessmen, representatives of the American Airlines Cannonball group who have supported the school supplies program for many years, participants in the senior citizens' program, former scholarship students, current students of the scholarship program, parents and family of students that the Fundación has supported, friends of Mrs. Jean Brugger, and many people from the community, all of whom made this moment something special.
During the program, recognition was given in gratitude to Jean for her valuable work, both on the part of the current and former scholarship students, and by many of the attendees who gave words of thanks to Mrs. Jean Brugger.
Nicaragua Mia Folkloric Ballet, directed by Mr. Bruno Pomares, graced the stage with four special dances. We thank Mr. Pomares and each one of the members of this dance group for donating your talents and art to make this event even more memorable.
We would also like to thank the Empresa Portuaria Nacional for allowing us to hold this event in the beautiful space in the new Port complex.
