Scholarship students in the Economic Sciences continue their community service with the Project Bio-clean: empowerment through environmental education.

During the months of July and August, the Economic Science students have continued with their project, in which 22 children of the Camilo Ortega neighborhood participate. The FAJB students have given talks about the protection of the environment. For this, students make use of different teaching methods such as: videos, interactive activities, and questions and answers. In this way a better understanding of the subjects is achieved.
The children make crafts with recycled products, which also helps to make learning entertaining. At the end of the activities, the children enjoy a snack. All of the FAJB students have agreed to incorpórate education on human trafficking in their community service projects this year, because it is a problem in San Juan del Sur. The economic science groups have discussed these themes: Child trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation, different types of child labor, main causes of child labor, consequences of trafficking, and preventative measures that must be taken into account.
The objective of this community service project is to make a contribution to Nicaragua’s cultural evolution through the recycling of waste and raising awareness about human trafficking.
