On Saturday November 3rd, a meeting of former Fundación A. Jean Brugger scholarship students was held at the Fundación offices. The objective was to strengthen links with the graduates, in order to maintain close communication between the graduated professionals and Fundación A. Jean Brugger.
The meeting was also an opportunity to propose new projects for the graduates to participate in. Our Executive Director Vilma Bustos, who is a former scholarship student, presented Fundación A. Jean Brugger’s actions in 2018 in support of the educational development of our community and the plans for the year 2019. She also proposed the formation of a committee of former scholarship recipients to work together with FAJB in different iniciatives.
The graduates are excited about becoming mentors to the current students. At the meeting a plan was devised so that, beginning next year, graduates can be involved in the community service projects that match their career. Of particular interest were the community service programs involving computer classes and talks on human trafficking. Some of the graduates also envisioned helping to train the current scholarship holders in teaching techniques.
The attendees also enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Fundación A. Jean Brugger thanks all the graduate students who participated in this meeting.
